SEC. 829. Streamlining of reporting
requirements applicable to Assistant Secretary of Defense for
Research and Engineering regarding major defense acquisition
programs.
(a) Reporting to under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology, and logistics before milestone b approval.—Subparagraph (A) of paragraph (8) of section 138(b) of title 10, United States Code, as amended by section 901(h)(2) of the Carl Levin and Howard P. “Buck” McKeon National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015 (Public Law 113–291; 128 Stat. 3466), is further amended—
(b) Annual report to secretary of defense and congressional defense committees.—Subparagraph (B) of such paragraph is amended by inserting “for which a Milestone B approval occurred during the preceding fiscal year” after “Department of Defense”. |
Streamlining of reporting requirements
applicable to Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and
Engineering regarding major defense acquisition programs (sec.
829) The Senate amendment contained a provision (sec. 850) that would amend section 138(b) of title 10, United States Code, to change the scope of periodic reports the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering is required to deliver to the congressional defense committees, the Secretary of Defense, and the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. The House bill contained no similar provision. The House recedes. Senate Report 114-49 to accompany S. 1376 as it was reported out of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Streamlining of reporting requirements applicable to Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering regarding major defense acquisition programs (sec. 850) The committee recommends a provision that would amend section 138(b) of title 10, United States Code, to change the scope of periodic reports the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering is required to deliver to the congressional defense committees, the Secretary of Defense, and the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. |
