SEC. 819. MODIFIED NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENT FOR EXERCISE OF WAIVER AUTHORITY TO ACQUIRE VITAL NATIONAL SECURITY CAPABILITIES. Subsection (d) of section 806 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 (Public Law 114–92; 10 U.S.C. 2302 note) is amended to read as follows: “(d) Notification Requirement.—Not later than 10 days after exercising the waiver authority under subsection (a), the Secretary of Defense shall provide a written notification to Congress providing the details of the waiver and the expected benefits it provides to the Department of Defense.”.	Modified notification requirement for exercise of waiver authority to acquire vital national security capabilities (sec. 819) The Senate bill contained a provision (sec. 805) that would amend subsection (d) of section 806 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 (Public Law 114– 92) to provide for a notification to Congress not later than ten days after the use of the waiver authority to acquire vital national security capabilities outlined earlier in section 806. The House amendment contained no similar provision. The House recedes.
