SEC. 852. WAIVER OF CONGRESSIONAL
NOTIFICATION FOR ACQUISITION OF TACTICAL MISSILES AND MUNITIONS
GREATER THAN QUANTITY SPECIFIED IN LAW. Section 2308(c) of title 10, United States Code, is amended—
|
Waiver of congressional notification for
acquisition of tactical missiles and munitions greater than
quantity specified in law (sec. 852)
The Senate bill contained a provision (sec. 840) that would amend section 2308(c) of title 10, United States Code, to waive the requirement for the head of an agency to notify congressional defense committees of the decision to acquire a higher quantity of an end item for tactical missiles and munitions annual procurements. The House amendment contained a similar provision (sec. 836) that would waive the requirement for the Secretary of Defense to notify the congressional defense committees of a decision, not later than 30 days after the date of the decision, to acquire a higher quantity of an end item (for tactical missiles and munitions annual procurements only) than is specified in law. The Senate recedes. |
