contingency contracting (sec. 887) The House amendment contained a provision (sec. 899G) that would reauthorize the Commission on Wartime Contracting established under Section 841 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (Public Law 110-181; 122 Stat. 230) and amend the Commission's duties to include studying federal agency contracting funded by overseas contingency operations funds. The Senate bill contained no similar provision. The Senate recedes with an amendment that would direct the Comptroller General of the United States to report on the implementation of the recommendations made by the Commission and the use of contractors to perform work supporting contingency operations since January 1, 2009, and not include the reauthorization of the Commission on Wartime Contracting. |
