Section 170 d.(1)(A) of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 (42 U.S.C. 2210(d)(1)(A)) is amended by striking `until August 1, 2002,' and inserting `until December 31, 2004,'.

The Senate amendment contained a provision (sec. 3171) that would amend section 170 d.(1)(A) of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, 42 U.S.C. 2210(d)(1)(A), by extending the authority of the Department of Energy to extend indemnification coverage to its contractors from August 1, 2002 to August 1, 2012.  (See S. 2514 below.)

The House bill contained no similar provision.

The House recedes with an amendment that would extend the authority to December 31, 2004.
