SEC. 857. ENHANCED ACCESS FOR SMALL BUSINESS. Section 9(a) of the Contract Disputes Act of 1978 (41 U.S.C. 608) is amended by striking the period at the end of the first sentence and inserting the following: `or, in the case of a small business concern (as defined in the Small Business Act and regulations under that Act), $150,000 or less.'. |
Enhanced access for small business (sec. 857)
The House bill contained a provision (sec. 825) that would amend section 9(a) of the Contract Disputes Act of 1978 (41 U.S.C. 608) to provide expedited disposition of appeals by the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals and the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals for small business disputes of $150,000 or less. The Senate amendment contained no similar provision. The Senate recedes. |

SECTION 825--ENHANCED ACCESS FOR SMALL BUSINESSThis section would amend section 9(a) of the Contract Disputes Act of 1978 (41 U.S.C. 608) to provide that the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals and the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals shall provide for expedited disposition of appeals of small businesses where the amount in dispute is $150,000 or less. |
