SEC. 809. REPORT ON EXTENSION OF
DEVELOPMENT, ACQUISITION, AND SUSTAINMENT AUTHORITIES OF THE MILITARY DEPARTMENTS TO THE UNITED STATES SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND. (a) Review.--The Secretary of Defense shall carry out a review of the authorities available to the Secretaries of the military departments and the acquisition executives of the military departments for the development, acquisition, and sustainment of technology, equipment, and services for the military departments in order to determine the feasibility and advisability of the provision of such authorities to the Commander of the United States Special Operations Command and the acquisition executive of the Command for the development, acquisition, and sustainment of special operations-peculiar technology, equipment, and services.
(b) Report.--Not later than 120 days after

Report on extension of development, acquisition, and sustainment authorities of the military departments to the United States Special Operations Command (sec. 809) The Senate amendment contained a provision (sec. 806) that would require the Secretary of Defense to carry out a review of the acquisition authorities available to the secretaries of the military departments and the acquisition executives of the military departments to determine the feasibility and advisability of providing such authorities to the Commander of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and the acquisition executive of the Command for the development, acquisition, and sustainment of special operations-peculiar technology, equipment, and services. The House bill contained no similar provision. The House recedes.
